The Department of Allied Health Sciences, offering degree programs in allied health, diagnostic genetic sciences, dietetics, and medical technology, is located in Koons Hall (KNH), named for Benjamin Franklin Koons. A professor and first President of the Storrs Agricultural College (1893-1898), Koons authorized the admission of the first women to the college.
